Approximately 500 people took part in a 2-hour ‘No Kings’ rally in Oregon on Saturday, June 14, 2025, to protest actions by President Donald Trump. People carried signs critical of Trump’s policies and executive orders as they lined the north and east sidewalks of the Ogle County Courthouse Square in the town of 3,566. A small group of Trump supporters also displayed signs at the rally, with no altercations reported.

The River's Edge Farmers Market kicked off the 2025 season in Oregon on Thursday, June 5. The markets are held each Thursday night from 5-7:30 p.m. at 123 N. 2nd St., along the riverfront below the Oregon dam on the west bank of the Rock River. Wreaths were laid at two locations and one was thrown into the Rock River on Monday, May 26, 2025 to honor the sacrifice and service of veterans during the Oregon VFW’s Memorial Day program. The day’s event also include a program at the Riverside Cemetery, patriotic music by the Oregon High School Band followed by a family-themed celebration at the Post home. Events were also held in Polo and Mt. Morris.

The Forreston-Polo boys track team won the 1A Oregon Sectional on Friday, May 29, 2025 edging Winnebago 120 to 117.5. The Cardinals qualified individuals and relay teams to the state finals at Eastern Illinois University. Preliminaries at the state meet begin Thursday, May 29 in Mattoon.
